UFC matchmakers decided not to re-sign Michael 'Venom' Page

UFC CEO Dana White has revealed that the promotion's matchmakers made the decision not to re-sign British fighter Michael ‘Venom’ Page. Despite a 5-1 record within the organization, Page was released following his performance at UFC Paris.

Critics, including former two-division champion Henry Cejudo, suggested that Page's fighting style—characterized by a point-fighting karate approach—did not resonate with the UFC audience or provide enough excitement. Cejudo noted that Page's high purse may have also influenced the decision if the promotion felt his style was not delivering sufficient engagement.

Following his release, Page has entered free agency. Jake Paul, co-founder of MVP MMA, has publicly expressed interest in signing the fighter, posting on X that it is time to bring Page to his promotion.
