UFC to proceed with Abu Dhabi event despite regional tensions

UFC CEO Dana White has confirmed that the promotion will proceed with UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, despite rising regional tensions and security concerns in the Middle East. The event is scheduled for October 24, 2026, at the Etihad Arena. While the U.S. Department of State has issued a level three travel advisory for the UAE due to risks of armed conflict and terrorism in the broader region, White stated there are no plans to relocate the card.

On the competitive front, Australian fighter Alexander Volkanovski is set to defend his featherweight title against undefeated contender Movsar Evloev on October 24. At 38 years old, Volkanovski’s ongoing championship run is noted for its longevity, as he continues to defend the belt well past the ages at which previous champions in the division typically transitioned or lost their titles.
