UFG Nursing Faculty issues measles vaccination guidance

The Vaccination Room of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) Nursing Faculty is providing guidance to the university community following reports of measles cases, particularly in the state of São Paulo.

In accordance with the Goiás State Health Secretariat (SES-GO), vaccination in Goiás continues to follow the National Vaccination Calendar. There is currently no recommendation for a ‘zero dose’ for 6-month-old children traveling to São Paulo, Guarulhos, or São Bernardo do Campo.

The routine vaccination schedule includes the first dose of the triple viral vaccine at 12 months and a second dose at 15 months. For adults up to 29 years old, proof of two doses is required, while those aged 30 to 59 must prove one dose based on their vaccination history. Health workers are recommended to have two doses regardless of age. The triple viral vaccine is contraindicated for pregnant women.
