UFHEC celebrates graduation of 1,747 professionals and launches nursing congress
The Universidad Federico Henríquez y Carvajal (UFHEC) held its 49th ordinary graduation ceremony in Santo Domingo, conferring degrees upon 1,747 new professionals. The graduating class is notably composed of 74% women (1,301 graduates) and 26% men (446 graduates). Programs with high enrollment included Clinical Psychology, School Guidance Education, Law, Accounting, Nursing, and Industrial Engineering, alongside various postgraduate master's and doctoral degrees.
During the ceremony, Julio César Landrón, Executive Director of the National Health Service (SNS), served as the keynote speaker and received recognition for his professional career. Landrón emphasized the social responsibility of new graduates, urging them to use their knowledge to transform reality and serve society with ethics and humanity. He also noted that the public health network would offer opportunities for specialized professionals in priority areas such as nursing and psychopedagogy.
In a separate academic initiative, UFHEC and the Universidad Eugenio María de Hostos (UNIREMHOS) inaugurated the 2026 International Nursing Congress. The event brings together national and international specialists to discuss the challenges of the nursing profession regarding technological and scientific advancements in healthcare systems.
