UFL introduces Colorado Stampede franchise

The United Football League (UFL) has officially unveiled its newest franchise, the Colorado Stampede, based in Colorado Springs. The team held a fan event at Weidner Field to introduce the brand, which is inspired by the Plains Bison and intended to represent the resilience and independent spirit of the Pikes Peak region.

Head coach Rick Neuheisel will lead the team. The franchise serves as a professional platform for athletes seeking to advance their careers or return to the NFL. Former Denver Broncos linebacker Dondrea Tillman, who used the UFL to secure an NFL opportunity, is cited as an example of the league's role as a proving ground. Current Stampede players, including Raiqwon O'Neal and Tyler Vaughns, are utilizing the team to pursue further professional opportunities.
