Mato Grosso do Sul educators undergo specialized professional training

Municipal education networks in Mato Grosso do Sul are conducting various professional development programs for teachers. In Campo Grande, the Municipal Education Secretariat (Semed) is leading training sessions for history teachers focused on local history, memory, and cultural heritage. These sessions include visits to the Hospital São Julião, established in 1941, and the Memorial da Cultura to utilize historical archives in the classroom.

Additionally, pedagogy teachers teaching science from 1st to 5th grade are participating in a scientific practice training program in partnership with the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS). This program, themed ‘Dialogues on Earth and Universe’, utilizes the university's science museum, planetarium, and archaeology museum to provide practical educational experiences.

In Várzea Grande, the EMEB Profª Líbia da Costa Rondon school held a training session for educators and technical staff to evaluate results from the ‘Criança Alfabetizada’ program. The initiative aims to align pedagogical interventions with state and national literacy goals to ensure students achieve full literacy at the appropriate age.
