UFO sightings linked to power outages and resource extraction

Various accounts link sightings of luminous unidentified flying objects (UFOs) to power outages and the extraction of natural resources such as water and minerals. These reports suggest that such objects may interact with high-voltage power lines to obtain energy.

One frequently cited historical event is the massive blackout in the northeastern United States on November 9, 1965, which affected eight states and two Canadian provinces, leaving approximately 30 million people without electricity. Witnesses, including a private pilot, reported seeing a large, oval-shaped object changing from white to intense red near power lines shortly before the outage.

Similar phenomena have been reported in other regions, including a blackout affecting four cities in Finland and sightings in Tigre and Chascomús, Argentina. In one instance near Barranqueras, witnesses described an object appearing to extract water from the Paraná River. While these testimonies connect aerial sightings to electrical failures, no technical evidence has confirmed a direct causal link.
