UFO’s ‘Mechanix’ album to receive expanded reissue in December

Chrysalis Records has announced an expanded reissue of the 1982 UFO album ‘Mechanix’, scheduled for release on December 4, 2026. The reissue will be available in 2CD digipak formats and as a 3LP tri-fold sleeve 180gm vinyl set.

The new versions feature remastering from original tape transfers conducted at AIR Mastering to provide more dynamic and detailed sound. This edition marks the studio debut of multi-instrumentalist Neil Carter, who joined Phil Mogg, Andy Parker, Paul Chapman, and Pete Way during a period that saw the album reach number 8 on the UK Albums Chart.

Additional content includes a previously unreleased mix of a live concert recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon on January 28, 1982, restored by producer Brian Kehew. The deluxe set also features new liner notes by Michael Hann, fresh interviews with band members, and previously unseen photographs from the era.
