UFP Industries to invest $5.31 million in South Carolina facility

UFP Industries, Inc. has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Cherokee County, South Carolina, to expand its structural packaging capacity. The company intends to invest approximately $5.31 million in real property, machinery, and equipment.

The new facility will focus on manufacturing wood packaging products designed to serve industrial, manufacturing, and logistics customers. The project aims to strengthen the company’s ability to provide highly customized, value-added solutions for clients with complex shipping and storage requirements, particularly across the Southeast.

According to CEO Will Schwartz, the investment is part of a strategy to grow higher-margin core businesses and expand geographic reach. The project is expected to create 136 new jobs over the next five years.
