UFRJ appoints new Social Work director and honors Celso Amorim
The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) is conducting several high-level academic transitions and honors.
Professor Gracyelle Costa Ferreira has officially assumed the position of director of the UFRJ School of Social Work, with Professor Luis Eduardo Acosta serving as vice-director. The transition was presided over by UFRJ Rector Roberto Medronho.
Additionally, UFRJ will confer the title of Doctor Honoris Causa upon Celso Amorim, the chief advisor for international affairs to the President of Brazil. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 28, at the university's Palácio Universitário. The distinction recognizes Amorim's extensive career in diplomacy and his contributions to Brazil's international presence and public debate.
