UFSM Winter Festival Offers Free Music Training for Early‑Education Teachers
The 41st International Winter Festival of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) hosted a free six‑hour continuing‑education course for early‑childhood and primary‑school teachers on Thursday, 23 February. Held at the Museum of Knowledge (building 62C), the program featured two workshops: a morning session on “Music in the Classroom: Experiences, Games and Movement” and an afternoon session titled “One Story Leads to Another… Dialogues Between Music and Literature.”
The sessions were led by doctoral students and faculty from UFSM’s Graduate Program in Education, providing practical tools, games, and interdisciplinary activities to integrate music into everyday teaching. Participants were also asked to register data to help map regional needs for future arts‑education training.
