Uganda Bureau of Statistics graduates fourth leadership cohort, stresses data alignment with national priorities

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) held a graduation ceremony for its fourth cohort of staff who completed a four‑week Transformative and Leadership Development Course at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi. Forty‑three officers, 28 men and 15 women, received training aimed at strengthening patriotism, strategic thinking and leadership skills while emphasizing the role of official statistics in supporting Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the Fourth National Development Plan.

Deputy Executive Director Dr Vincent Ssennono addressed the graduates, urging them to align their work with the country’s economic and social priorities so that data directly informs government planning, policy formulation and service delivery across sectors such as health, education and agriculture. Executive Director Dr Chris N. Mukiza was represented at the ceremony, reinforcing UBOS’s mandate to produce high‑quality evidence for national transformation.
