Uganda Golf Open 2026 begins with Ladies Open

The Johnnie Walker Uganda Open Golf 2026 Championship has commenced with the Ladies Open at the Uganda Golf Club. The tournament is expected to feature over 100 female golfers competing in the Silver and Bronze categories.

The event highlights the growing competitiveness of women’s golf in East Africa, drawing elite regional talent. Uganda’s roster includes former champions Peace Kabasweka and Martha Babirye, as well as national team players Judith Komugisha and Meron Kyomugisha. Kabasweka enters the competition following a third-place finish at the Zambia Ladies Open, while Babirye is a three-time winner of the 2020 Open title.

Regional competition is expected to be high, with Tanzanian players noted as a significant challenge to the local contenders.
