Uganda Military Police to deploy 537 officers for UCE exams
The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Military Police Brigade is deploying 537 officers to secure the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations starting October 12, 2026. The personnel recently completed a three-week Examination Security Course at Nsujjumpolwe Barracks in the Mpigi District to prepare for the safe handling and nationwide delivery of examination materials.
This deployment supports the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) in its efforts to prevent examination malpractice, a responsibility the Military Police has held since 2017. Maj Gen William Beinomugisha, Commandant of the Military Police Brigade, emphasized the need for professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality to protect the credibility of the education system. He warned that any personnel violating operational rules would face prosecution under the UPDF Act, 2005.
