Uganda national football teams prepare for AFCON qualifiers
Uganda's national football teams are preparing for upcoming continental qualifiers. The Uganda Sand Cranes beach soccer team has announced an 18-player squad for the second round of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2026 qualifiers. The squad, consisting of 17 league players and one secondary school player, will begin a residential training camp at Bunjako Beach in Mpigi District on September 24, 2026.
Simultaneously, the Uganda Cranes men's senior team is preparing for AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Tunisia. Head coach Paul Put has noted that the squad is currently incomplete due to injuries, illness, and the staggered arrival of foreign-based players. A domestic contingent has already departed for Tunisia to begin preparations, with overseas-based players expected to join them in Tunis ahead of the match at Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi.
