Uganda Parliament honors Ghetto Kids for global recognition

The Parliament of Uganda has officially recognized and celebrated the Ghetto Kids, a young dance group, for their international achievements. The group gained significant global visibility through their performances at the FIFA World Cup, where they shared the stage with international entertainers despite Uganda’s national football team not qualifying for the tournament.

Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oboth-Oboth commended the dancers for showcasing Ugandan talent on a global scale. He noted that their success serves as a reminder that a person’s difficult background does not dictate their future, stating, “I know that where you start can never determine how far you can go.” Oboth emphasized that the group’s journey demonstrates what Ugandan youth can achieve when talent is met with opportunity and perseverance.

Vice President Jessica Alupo also joined in congratulating the group for their exemplary performance and for representing the nation internationally.
