Uganda passport services suspended at Kyambogo and Jinja centres

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has temporarily suspended passport issuance services at the Kyambogo Passport Issuance Centre and the Jinja Regional Passport Office due to technical disruptions.

At the Kyambogo centre, operations were halted following a fibre-optic cable cut. The Jinja office is also facing challenges that prevent the personalisation and issuance of passports. Ministry spokesperson Simon Peter Mundeyi stated that technical teams are working with service providers to restore services as soon as possible.

While these two locations are non-operational, passport services remain available at the ministry’s headquarters in Kampala and regional offices in Mbale, Gulu, Mbarara, and Arua. The ministry has advised applicants to confirm service availability before traveling to other centres.
