Uganda removes yellow fever vaccination requirement for travelers

The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (DCIC) has announced that travelers entering Uganda are no longer required to present a yellow fever vaccination certificate. This clarification, issued in a letter dated August 27, 2026, follows a request for guidance from the Uganda Tourism Board.

The requirement has been removed from official platforms, including the e-Visa application portal and the National Citizenship and Immigration Control website. This change is intended to simplify entry procedures for international visitors, including tourists, airlines, and other stakeholders who previously had to manage the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis.

While the mandate has been lifted for entry into Uganda, travelers are advised that yellow fever vaccination requirements may still apply in other countries depending on their origin or transit routes.
