Uganda to host 10th High-Level Economic Growth Forum

Uganda will host the 10th High-Level Economic Growth Forum from August 27-28, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala. Organized by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in collaboration with the International Growth Centre, the event aims to discuss strategies for accelerating national economic growth.

Under the theme ‘Realising Uganda’s Tenfold Growth Strategy in a Rapidly Changing Global Economy’, the forum will bring together government officials, researchers, and private-sector leaders. Discussions will focus on evidence-based policy options, including industrial policy, export growth, investment financing, and rural-urban productivity.

The forum will be officiated by Henry Musasizi, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, with a keynote address from Professor Chris Woodruff of the University of Oxford. The event is expected to produce policy recommendations to inform Uganda’s national budget priorities and guide the country’s economic strategy for the 2027/28 financial year and beyond.
