Uganda Wildlife Authority officers undergo leadership training

Susan Nakawuki Nsambu, the Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, has called on senior officers of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to apply leadership and discipline skills gained at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) to enhance wildlife conservation and service delivery.

Speaking at the pass-out ceremony for Intake 03/2026 at NALI in Kyankwanzi, Nsambu emphasized the importance of continuous training. She noted that effective leadership in conservation often involves enforcing laws that may not be popular, specifically citing the fight against poaching.

The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for UWA officers in their lawful duties and highlighted the tourism sector’s role as a major contributor to Uganda’s GDP, urging officers to ensure a first-class experience for visitors to national parks.
