Uganda wins silver in mixed doubles at Kampala International Future Series

Uganda secured a silver medal in the mixed doubles at the 2026 Kampala International Future Series. The pair of Muzafaru Lubega and Gladys Mbabazi finished as runners-up after a strong performance at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

While the doubles events provided redemption, several top Ugandan players struggled in the singles categories. Gladys Mbabazi also earned a bronze medal in the women’s doubles alongside Meble Namakoye. The tournament concluded with Uganda accumulating a total of one silver and four bronze medals.

Mbabazi noted that she competed despite suffering from a shoulder injury and used the opportunity to call for better medical insurance for the Uganda National team.
