UGMA Maturín expands academic offerings and technological integration
The Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho University (UGMA) Maturín campus has announced initiatives to enhance educational quality through technological adaptation and academic expansion. Dr. Arelys León, director of the Maturín nucleus, stated that the institution is focusing on providing modern tools to support student and faculty development.
Currently, the university has enrolled 170 new students for the 2025-2026 period. The existing academic offerings include Law, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Psychology, Dentistry, and various engineering disciplines such as Systems, Gas, Environment, and Renewable Energy.
UGMA is also seeking approval from the National Council of Universities (CNU) to introduce three new programs: Digital Marketing, Mechatronics, and a specialty in Design. Additionally, the university maintains a partnership with Fedecámaras aimed at training talent for the productive and business sectors, though officials noted the operational mechanism for student referrals from the business guild is still being optimized.
