Maciej Gładysz declared Formula 3 winner at Silverstone after rival disqualification

The FIA Formula 3 race at Silverstone was initially won by Italy’s Matteo de Palo, who held off teammate Freddie Slater in a tight finish. After the race, stewards examined the cars and found de Palo’s diffuser was below the minimum height required by the technical regulations. The car was therefore disqualified.

Poland’s 18‑year‑old Maciej Gładysz, who had crossed the line third, was promoted to first place, giving him his first career victory and the first Polish win in FIA F3. Additional time penalties to Ernesto Rivera moved Freddie Slater and championship leader Ugo Ugochukwu onto the podium.

Gładysz said, “It was an amazing weekend… the fight was really close and I knew anything was possible as we entered the last lap,” adding gratitude to his ART Grand Prix team and supporters. The next round of the 2026 season will be at Spa‑Francorchamps in Belgium.
