UGT wins union elections at GXO Logistics and Stellantis plants
The UGT union has secured significant victories in recent union elections at two major industrial sites in Spain.
At the GXO Logistics Miralcampo 2 center in Azuqueca de Henares, UGT’s Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption (FeSMC) obtained 8 of the 13 committee delegates. This result increases their majority over the second-largest organization, CCOO, which secured 4 delegates. The center employs over 250 people, and UGT has pledged to focus on fair pay for holidays, direct hiring for temporary staff, and improved rest periods.
In Zaragoza, UGT also achieved a major victory at the Stellantis plant in Figueruelas, one of Spain’s most important automotive manufacturing sites. The union secured 15 of the 29 total delegates, including 12 specialists and 3 technicians. This result consolidates UGT as the primary union at the facility, which employs approximately 4,800 workers. CCOO obtained 6 delegates, while CGT, OSTA, and CCP secured 4, 2, and 2 delegates respectively. Notably, the STEPEL union lost all representation on the works committee.
