UGU files labor inspection complaint over radiodiagnostic staff shortage at Ciudad Real Hospital

The General Union of Workers (UGT) has lodged a formal complaint with Spain's Labor and Social Security Inspection regarding the severe shortage of night‑shift radiodiagnostic technicians at the Hospital General de Ciudad Real. The union says the understaffing forces continuous over‑work, raises stress levels, harms the technicians’ psychological health, and sometimes requires physicians to perform diagnostic tests without specialist assistance. UGT alleges that the situation violates the 1995 Occupational Risk Prevention Law and has repeatedly been reported to the hospital management, personnel board and risk‑prevention committee without effective corrective action.

UGT is demanding that the inspection assess psychosocial risks, verify staffing adequacy, and compel the regional health authority (SESCAM) to implement immediate measures to ensure safe working conditions for the technicians.
