Uhuru Kenyatta's office denies refusing meeting with Rigathi Gachagua

The Office of former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed reports claiming he refused to meet with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. A spokesperson for Kenyatta characterized a circulating letter alleging the former Head of State declined multiple requests for an audience as “fake news.”

The disputed document suggested that Kenyatta rejected meetings because Gachagua did not align with his values of national unity. This follows previous statements from Gachagua, who indicated intentions to consult with Kenyatta to provide guidance to the Mount Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
