Uijeongbu expands nighttime Safe Return Service citywide
Uijeongbu City is expanding its ‘Safe Return Service’ to cover the entire city starting October 1. The initiative aims to strengthen the public-private safety network to ensure citizens can return home safely during late-night hours.
During an inauguration ceremony held on September 29, Mayor Kim Won-ki and various local organizations, including the Autonomous Crime Prevention Federation and the Women's Association, committed to the expanded service. The operating hours have been extended by one hour, running from 10:00 PM on weekdays until 1:00 AM the following morning.
Under the new system, two-person teams from the Autonomous Crime Prevention Federation will use dedicated vehicles to provide mobile support across all areas of Uijeongbu. Citizens can request the service via telephone 20 minutes in advance. Additionally, the city is integrating smart technology through the ‘Gyeonggi-do Safe Return App,’ allowing the integrated control center to monitor movement in real-time and dispatch emergency services if necessary.
