Uijeongbu to host exhibition for products by persons with severe disabilities
Uijeongbu City will host a ‘Visiting Exhibition of Products Produced by Persons with Severe Disabilities’ from September 1 to September 30 at the second annex of the City Hall. The event aims to expand the consumer base for high-quality goods made by individuals with severe disabilities and to support the economic independence of vocational rehabilitation facilities.
Four local facilities—Cheongchun D, Solbitteo, Dreamland, and Duri Sonjapgo—will participate, showcasing a variety of items including office supplies (copy paper and printed materials), hygiene products (toilet paper), food products (seaweed), and eco-friendly services such as reusable container rentals and dishwashing services.
Mayor Kim Won-ki stated that the exhibition is intended to be a ‘business venue’ rather than a simple display, aiming to facilitate actual purchase contracts by providing guidance to public procurement officers and citizens. The city plans to use the event to promote the quality of these products and encourage both public and private sector consumption to support stable employment for people with disabilities.
