Uil Fp Viterbo starts “Il tuo no diventa noi” gender‑equality campaign
The Italian trade union Uil Fp Viterbo has launched a campaign titled “Il tuo no diventa noi” to fight gender discrimination and violence. Union secretary‑general Diego Basile said the initiative aims to address the deep‑rooted cultural causes of gender‑based violence, describing it as a structural phenomenon rooted in stereotypes, rigid gender roles and hidden misogyny.
The campaign, announced by national Uil secretary‑general Pierpaolo Bombardieri at the union’s recent congress, will be promoted across all territories by Uil Fp and national secretary Rita Longobardi. Its visual symbol is two fingertips touching, taken from Italian sign language, representing collective change toward parity. Provincial equal‑opportunity officer Silvia Breccola added that ending discrimination requires a collective cultural shift in workplaces, families, institutions and everyday language.
