UIN Jakarta academics receive funding for Sharia finance research

Academics from the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta have received research funding through the Mora Air Fund 2026, a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and LPDP.

The research project, titled ‘The Antecedents and the consequences of Sharia Financial inclusion in Indonesia, Malaysia and Turkey’, aims to conduct a cross-country study on Sharia financial inclusion. By comparing Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey, the study seeks to identify challenges, opportunities, and best practices for expanding access to Sharia financial services.

The research will examine economic values and socio-religious behavioral changes related to increased Sharia financial inclusion, including impacts on financial decision-making, social participation, religiosity, and quality of life. The expected outcomes include the development of three measurement instruments: a comprehensive Sharia financial inclusion index (MSSFII), an economic value index (EVISFI), and a socio-religious behavior change index (SRISFI).
