UIN Students' Community Service Projects Revitalize Mosques and Plant Coconut Seedlings in Indonesia

Students of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta carried out a KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) program in Way Asih Village, Seram Utara Timur, Maluku Tengah. Over a week they organized Quran recitation, Arabic reading, and basic dawah activities for dozens of children, aiming to reinvigorate the mosque’s spiritual role in the community.

Separately, a KKN group from UIN Walisongo Semarang (MIT‑22) teamed with the village government of Sendang Dawuhan, Kendal, Central Java, to plant 80 coconut seedlings along a rice‑field road. Village head Waryono and KKN coordinator Muhammad Khilmi Zakariya highlighted the project’s goals of greening the village, supporting food security, and providing long‑term environmental benefits for future generations.
