UIN Walisongo students clean up Sipon River waste in Demak

Students from UIN Walisongo Semarang, participating in the 22nd MIT KKN program, collaborated with the Wonoagung Environmental Education Community (KELING) to clean up large accumulations of waste along the banks of the Sipon River in Demak, Central Java.

The cleanup operation was supported by the Demak Regency Environmental Agency (DLH), which provided waste transport trucks to remove the collected refuse. To prevent future illegal dumping, local organizers plan to stabilize the riverbanks with soil, install fencing, and place warning signs in the area.
