UIO seizes 368,000 KM worth of smuggled textiles in Tuzla
The Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina has seized 2,180 pieces of textile products valued at approximately 368,000 KM during an operation titled ‘TEX’ in the Tuzla Regional Center.
Following operational intelligence, officials inspected a freight vehicle that contained a legally declared shipment of alcoholic beverages. During the search, they discovered hidden clothing, including jeans, sweatshirts, and t-shirts, bearing labels of famous international brands. The goods are suspected of being intended for illegal sale on the Bosnian market.
The operation was conducted in accordance with instructions from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and an order from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A report regarding the suspected crime of smuggling will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office.
