Uiryeong County to host 5th Rich Rich Festival in October

Uiryeong County will host the 5th Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival from October 2 to 5 at Uiryeong County Citizen Park and the Sotbawi Rock area. Centered on the theme ‘Senses of the Wealthy,’ the festival draws inspiration from the legend of Sotbawi Rock, which claims that great wealth is born within an 8km radius of the site. This area is historically significant as the birthplace of several prominent South Korean business founders, including Samsung’s Lee Byung-chul, LG’s Koo In-hwoi, and Hyosung’s Cho Hong-je.

The event features a ‘Wealthy No. 1 Theme Hall’ with nine distinct zones, including activities inspired by the lives of these entrepreneurs, such as games based on Lee Byung-chul’s insight and Koo In-hwoi’s philanthropy. Technological elements like ‘AI Rich Condition’ will analyze visitors' faces to recommend personal wealth-related missions.

Family-oriented programs include the ‘Rich Family Olympics’ and ‘Rich KidZania,’ alongside a river boat tour and various musical performances ranging from K-pop to EDM disco parties. Last year, the festival attracted approximately 340,000 visitors, generating an estimated direct economic impact of 16.3 billion won.
