Uiseong County Forms Sister‑Village Pact Between Up‑2ri and Sechon‑2ri

Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province held a sister‑village agreement on 24 April in Onnuri‑teo, Uiseong‑eup, linking the participating villages of Up‑2ri and Sechon‑2ri. The pact, part of the national village self‑governance support project, commits the two communities to share resources, joint specialty projects, and cooperative activities to strengthen local autonomy and sustainable development.

County mayor Choi Yoo‑cheol emphasized that “village self‑governance thrives when residents learn from and cooperate with each other,” and expressed hope that the agreement will deepen mutual trust and foster a durable network of community collaboration. The county supports 27 villages this year with training, programs, and funding to promote resident‑led initiatives.
