Uiseong County launches cardiovascular disease prevention campaign
Uiseong County is conducting the ‘Know Your Vascular Numbers, Red Circle Campaign’ throughout September to prevent cardiovascular diseases. The initiative encourages residents to monitor and manage their blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels.
The campaign is a response to local health trends where circulatory diseases rank as the second leading cause of death, and while hypertension and diabetes diagnosis rates are high, continuous treatment rates remain low. To address this, the county is moving beyond simple measurements to promote consistent medication adherence and lifestyle improvements.
Targeted educational programs are being implemented for various demographics, including office workers in their 20s to 40s, military personnel, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities. Outreach efforts include customized health lectures, promotional booths, and multi-channel communication via social media and local signage.
