Uiseong County has announced the commencement of construction for a Youth Culture Center at the Bongyang Industrial Complex. The project is part of the ‘Industrial Complex Package Support Project’ selected through a 2024 competition held by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The total project cost is 5.6 billion KRW, funded by 3.88 billion KRW in national funds, 510 million KRW in provincial funds, and 1.21 billion KRW in county funds. The three-story facility, spanning a total floor area of 1,187.62 square meters, is scheduled to begin construction in September and reach completion by late 2027.
Designed to improve living conditions for young workers and provide welfare infrastructure, the center will include:
- 1st Floor: A kids' book cafe, convenience store, and restaurant. - 2nd Floor: A fitness center, corporate support offices, a multimedia room, and shared office spaces. - 3rd Floor: Seven dormitory rooms, a shared kitchen, and a laundry room.
Located near the Bongyang Industrial Complex entrance, the center offers high accessibility to Uiseong IC and National Route 5. It is intended to serve as a community hub for both industrial complex workers and local residents.
