Uiseong-gun fruit APC ranks 2nd in national management evaluation
Uiseong-gun's fruit-based Agricultural Processing Center (APC) has ranked second nationwide and first in Gyeongbuk Province in a management evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The center earned a score of 97.28 points based on 31 evaluation criteria, including handling volume, farmer organization, facility utilization, and marketing strategies.
The center has demonstrated consistent growth, with shipment volumes increasing from 5,820 tons in 2023 to a projected 8,196 tons in 2025, and revenue rising from 21 billion won to 36.8 billion won over the same period. Key performance indicators included a 5% increase in local employment, an online sales ratio of 45.2%, and a fixed-price/negotiated transaction rate of 73.8%.
To further enhance competitiveness, Uiseong-gun is initiating a 6 billion won smart APC project starting in 2025. This initiative includes implementing cold chain systems and AI-based apple sorting technology to standardize product quality and meet the demands of large-scale distributors.
