UISP Wheelchair Basketball groups set for 2026/27 season

The groups for the 2026/27 UISP National Wheelchair Basketball Championship have been finalized. The competition will feature 14 teams divided into three groups—two groups of five and one group of four—based primarily on geographic distribution.

The tournament maintains the record participation level first reached in the 2024/25 season. The lineup includes two debutant teams and two returning formations, representing a turnover of nearly one-third of the participants compared to the previous edition.

Rieti Basket in Carrozzina enters the season as the defending champion after winning the 2025/26 national title in Cesenatico, where they defeated Polisportiva Salgareda 57-51 in the final. Rieti previously secured a national title in 2023/24 and won the UISP Supercup in December 2025.
