UiTM student dies during endurance challenge in Pahang

A 21-year-old student, Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, has died following the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge (KKEC) 2026 at the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Jengka campus in Pahang. The incident occurred on September 4 during an endurance event.

Preliminary investigations by Maran police suggest the students suffered heat-related issues, including oxygen depletion. In addition to the fatality, eight other participants were hospitalized. Reports indicate that one student remains in the intensive care unit (ICU) while others are being monitored in stable condition.

The victim's father noted that Fadhlan was a sports enthusiast who had successfully completed the challenge in two previous editions and was awaiting a degree offer. Following the incident, organizers canceled all remaining outdoor activities for the program. UiTM stated that the event followed standard health and safety protocols, including mandatory health screenings for all participants.
