UiTM Jalan Othman renamed UiTM Tun Arshad Ayub

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Jalan Othman campus in Petaling Jaya will be renamed the UiTM Tun Arshad Ayub campus. The renaming serves as an honor to the late Tun Arshad Ayub for his significant contributions to the development of Bumiputera education and the growth of the Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM).

To support this transition, the Prime Minister has immediately approved an allocation of RM2.5 million for facilities at the Jalan Othman campus. Furthermore, the government has committed to increasing support for UiTM, with the budget for 2026 set at RM3.08 billion. This represents a significant increase from the previous allocation of less than RM2 billion.

During an alumni gathering in Shah Alam, Anwar emphasized that the government remains committed to Bumiputera development through institutions like UiTM, while stressing the importance of managing these funds with integrity and efficiency to ensure they reach their intended targets.
