UIW and Trinity University cross country teams prepare for season start

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) and Trinity University cross country teams are preparing to begin their respective seasons.

UIW coach Derek Riedel reported that both the men's and women's squads completed a strenuous off-season training regimen, utilizing the Strava fitness app to monitor progress. Following a season where the men's team set a record 8K time, the Cardinals aim to improve upon their recent Southland Conference standings. The team is scheduled to open the year with back-to-back home meets.

Trinity University's teams will compete at the UIW Twilight meet. The women's team, ranked 21st nationally in preseason rankings, seeks to build momentum for a return to Nationals following their successful debut season in the SAA. The men's team, looking to establish a new scoring core after losing several seniors, will also participate in the event.
