Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple Bhasma Aarti Draws Thousands of Devotees

The Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, conducted its traditional Bhasma Aarti on the mornings of 19 June and 20 June 2026. The ceremony began at Brahma Muhurta with the temple doors opening, followed by Vedic chants, a ritual bathing of the deity with holy water, milk, honey, ghee and fruit‑based Panchamrit, and the offering of ash (bhasma) along with sandalwood, bhang and dry fruits.

After the ash offering, Lord Mahakal was adorned with a silver crown, trident, Rudraksha garlands, colorful flowers and other ornaments. The event attracted a large number of devotees from across India and abroad. Additional police forces and volunteers were deployed to manage crowds and ensure smooth flow of worshippers. The weather was clear, allowing the massive gathering to proceed without difficulty.
