Ujjain police investigate alleged abduction of 19-year-old woman

Police in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, are investigating the alleged abduction of a 19-year-old woman from outside her home in the Lalbai-Phoolbai area. CCTV footage shows two men arriving in a black vehicle without a license plate and forcibly taking the woman into the car despite attempts by family members to intervene.

The investigation took an unexpected turn following the emergence of a social media video featuring the woman and a man identified as Dhruv Kumawat. In the video, the woman claims she left with Kumawat of her own free will, stating they had been in a relationship for several years and had married. She addressed the CCTV footage, explaining that while Kumawat pulled her toward the vehicle, she went willingly.

Ujjain police have registered a kidnapping case based on the family's complaint and are working to locate the woman to formally record her statement. Officials stated that the full circumstances of the incident will only be established once the woman is recovered and her testimony is taken.
