Ujjain road widening affects CM Mohan Yadav's ancestral home

As part of the infrastructure preparations for the Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028, road widening projects in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, have identified the ancestral home of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his sister, Kalavati Yadav, as being within the demolition zone.

The project involves widening a 730-meter stretch of road from Khajur Wali Masjid through Abdalpura and Jiwaji Ganj Police Station to Ganesh Chowk, expanding it to a width of 15 meters. The Ujjain Municipal Corporation has marked 272 buildings for potential demolition to facilitate this development. The Chief Minister’s ancestral house, built by his grandfather in 1974, is among the affected structures.

Kalavati Yadav, who also serves as the Municipal Corporation Chairperson, stated that the family supports the development work for the city and emphasized that no discrimination based on religion, caste, or politics should occur during the process. Local officials and family members have expressed cooperation with the administration to ensure the successful execution of the Simhastha preparations.
