UK airlines easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 update passport rules for summer travel

EasyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI have refreshed the documentation requirements for passengers travelling this summer. For domestic flights in the UK, a photographic ID is required; children under 16 (or under 14 on Italian domestic flights) do not need to present ID unless travelling alone. Accepted IDs include a valid passport (expired up to five years may be used), EU/EEA/Swiss national identity cards, driving licences and armed‑forces or police IDs.

Digital identity documents are only permitted on domestic flights and on outbound journeys between Schengen or other European states. For all other international flights, travellers must carry a physical passport or national ID card; digital versions are not accepted. Passengers must also meet any visa or entry‑requirement conditions of their destination. These rules apply to the hundreds of thousands of British holidaymakers expected to fly abroad during the busy summer period.
