UK Allows Household Purchase of Plug‑In Solar Panels from August 27
The UK government has rewritten legislation to permit households in Great Britain to legally buy plug‑in solar panels, known as “balcony power plants,” starting on August 27, 2026. While the panels generate roughly 800 watts—about one‑fifth of a typical rooftop system—they are not intended to power an entire home.
