UK and Singapore launch healthcare innovation partnership
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and the National Health Innovation Centre Singapore (NHIC) have launched the i4i-LeapX joint funding opportunity. This partnership aims to accelerate healthcare innovations in both the UK and Singapore by supporting the development, clinical validation, and commercialization of late-stage health technologies.
The initiative focuses on addressing shared challenges such as aging populations and chronic disease management. Priority areas include digital health, AI, genomics, and preventative care, aligning with the UK’s 10-Year Health Plan and Singapore’s Healthier SG strategy.
In a separate development regarding community care, NHG Health has opened its first community-based preventive health hub in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. The center is designed to bridge the gap between primary screening and hospital specialist care, offering services such as colonoscopies, breast condition follow-ups, and hearing assessments. Additionally, NHG Health has partnered with the Singapore Cancer Society to integrate hospital and community cancer care.
