UK and Sri Lanka business leaders discuss digital growth in Colombo

Business leaders from Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom met at a forum in Colombo titled ‘Turning Digital Assets into Growth Engines’ to discuss leveraging digital technology for economic growth and operational efficiency.

Hosted by British High Commissioner Andrew Patrick at Westminster House, the event featured the UK digital product consultancy Apadmi, marking its first official event in Sri Lanka following the establishment of a Colombo office in 2025. The forum aimed to strengthen commercial and technological ties between the two nations.

Key discussions included the modernization of loyalty programs, such as the Keells Nexus app, and the commercial opportunities presented by Sri Lanka’s rapid mobile technology adoption. Panelists included representatives from HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives, PickMe, and Hatton National Bank.
