UK and US sign fusion and AI agreements for clean energy

The United Kingdom and the United States are entering into two formal agreements to advance cooperation in artificial intelligence and nuclear fusion energy. These arrangements are being finalized during the Global Fusion Summit in London.

One agreement establishes a supercomputing partnership between the UK Atomic Energy Authority and the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. This collaboration aims to integrate AI and advanced computing capabilities to accelerate the development of commercially viable fusion energy.

A second joint statement commits both governments to closer regulatory alignment. This effort is intended to attract financial investment and foster growth within the sector. UK officials suggest the technology could support more than 10,000 jobs in Britain by 2030 and provide a secure, zero-carbon energy source.
